New Farmacon Academy’s Clinical Research Training: ‘Avant-garde’

Farmacon Academy for Clinical Research Training debuted with PTC Therapeutics Mexico’s collaboration and participation,” said Sara Tylosky, CEO Farmacon Global.  “Under Dr. Maria del Pilar Pichardo’s assistance, Mexican KOL professionals from physicians to hospital administrators had the opportunity to study for proficiency in Clinical Trial processes.  It proved to be a successful model, as Dr. Pilar, Director of Medical Affairs, PTC Therapeutics Mexico, confirmed, commenting, ‘Congratulations to all of you for making possible such an avant-garde course, which exceeded PTC’s and my own expectations.’”

The virtual course featured protocol development including the role of the regulatory authority, drug development, basic principles of clinical research protocol design and informed consent and biostatistics data quality. Participants received mentoring on medical writing and protocol design including template writing for protocols in meetings with Farmacon Academy experts.  Good clinical practices were overviewed for clear understanding of the role and responsibilities of the investigator and staff, including bioethics, and the role of the sponsor and monitor. At the end of the course a certificate was provided by Farmacon Academy.
